Lakehead University offers you a truly Canadian experience, with 9,700 full-time equivalent students and 2,000 faculty and staff living and learning at our two beautiful campuses in Orillia and Thunder Bay, Ontario.   • We can do the pre-assessment of the candidates upon their eligibility for the respective choice of Program.
  • We can waive of the Application Fee for only Undergraduate applicants whom we meet face to face during education fairs and office visits ONLY if the complete application is submitted within a weeks time of the event.

Scholarships for International students

  • International Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships
  • 2018-2019 Automatically considered.
  • No scholarship application is required.

Non-Canadian citizens who are entering Lakehead University from a high school, or who are transferring from an international college or university, will be considered for the Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships. The scholarship is available to the top intl. students applying to Lakehead University for 2018-2019.

  • Renewable provided a 90% average is achieved in each academic year. If a student's university academic average falls between 80.0%-89.9%, the student will receive an amended scholarship valued at $5,000 CAD/year for each subsequent academic year for the remaining term of the scholarship.
  • Renewable providing an 80% average is achieved in each academic year.
  • Non-renewable, one-time only scholarship awarded in Year 1.
  • Maximum length of scholarship term is 4 academic years or until the first degree is awarded, whichever occurs first. Campus Visits:

Students who are able to visit one of our two campuses in person are invited to book a personalized campus tour with a student guide. Visitors will be able to see Student Services facilities, classrooms, labs, library, student centres, recreational facilities, and more. The following information is all for graduate studies.


Recommended deadline for applications for Fall

  • 1st Feb. for all graduate programs (recommended deadline to be considered for funding)
  • 15th December for Psychology program
  • 15th May is the Final deadline (Programs close the system by this time, however, programs which are keen to have students like MBA may consider an application even at a later date as long as a complete application is submitted.)
