Lakehead University offers you a truly Canadian experience, with 9,000 students and 2,000 faculty and staff living and learning at our two beautiful campuses in Orillia and Thunder Bay, Ontario. Over 1,200 international students, representing 80+ nations from around the world, study at Lakehead in one of our 85+ undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the fields of: Business Administration, Engineering, Education, Health & Behavioural Sciences, Natural Resources Management, Social Sciences & Humanities, Science & Environmental Studies, Law, and Medicine. In 2017, for the third consecutive year, Re$earch Infosource ranked Lakehead first among Canada's undergraduate universities. We have been consistently ranked in the Top 10 in Canada for primarily undergraduate universities, and the Top 3 in Ontario. Lakehead University recognizes AP, IB, and A-Levels and will consider graduates for advanced standing, and offers generous renewable entrance scholarships up to $30,000 CAD.

Undergraduate Programs:

Admission to undergraduate programs except Nursing, Consecutive Education, One-Year Honours Bachelor of Social Work. Depending on course availability, students may not be able to take a full course load when beginning undergraduate studies in January.

Special Offers

  • We can do the pre-assessment of the candidates upon their eligibility for the respective choice of Program.
  • We can waive of the Application Fee for only  Undergraduate applicants whom we meet face to face during education fairs and office visits ONLY if the complete application is submitted within a weeks time of the event.

 

Scholarships for International students

  • International Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships
  • 2019-2020 Automatically considered.
  • No scholarship application is required.

Non-Canadian citizens who are entering Lakehead University from a high school, or who are transferring from an international college or university, will be considered for the Undergraduate Non-Canadian citizens who are entering Lakehead University from a high school, or who are transferring from an international college or university, will be considered for the Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships. The scholarship is available to the top intl.  students applying to Lakehead University for 2019-2020.

  • Renewable provided a 90% average is achieved in each academic year. If a student's university academic average falls between 80.0%-89.9%, the student will receive an amended scholarship valued at $5,000 CAD/year for each subsequent academic year for the remaining term of the scholarship.
  • Renewable providing an 80% average is achieved in each academic year.
  • Non-renewable, one-time only scholarship awarded in Year 1.
  • Maximum length of scholarship term is 4 academic years or until the first degree is awarded, whichever occurs first. Recipients whose status changes and may be charged domestic fees will have their scholarship value reassessed to equate to the domestic entrance scholarship grid and regulations.

Campus Visits :

Students who are able to visit one of our two campuses in person are invited to book a personalized campus tour with a student guide. Visitors will be able to see Student Services facilities, classrooms, labs, library, student centres, recreational facilities, and more.
